As of this weekend, I am officially a senior citizen. For my birthday yesterday, my daughters took me to Carmike 6 to watch a clean but mediocre movie, &uot;Tooth Fairy&uot;. We took Arby's food in with us. We did not break a law, we did not break one of the 10 Commandments, nobody was hurt by what we did, we just did something the movie theater bigshots didn't want us to do. We saved money by buying our food someplace other than from them. A young female theater worker who looked about 18 & maybe 95 lbs asked us to leave, that we couldn't eat food inside the theater. My daughters, both being nice, law-abiding people, complied. I was furious. I have lived nearly 60 years on this earth & I wonder what the little bitty girl would have done if I had refused? What would the manager have done? Would they have called a big muscle-bound bouncer to kick a little old lady out of the theatre for, gasp, eating something not bought at their snack stand? There are rules & laws in this country that are stupid and should be broken. Abortion is legal, but it should not be as it is really murdering unborn babies. Tobacco is a known killer, yet it is legal. It should not be. During WW II, it was against the law to harbor a Jew. Thank God someone had the guts to break that law. Slavery used to be legal. Women not being able to vote used to be a law. Thank God someone stood up & did something about it. Paying $10 for a box of popcorn is a crime and a waste of hard-earned money in this crappy Obama-driven economy. Paying people millions of dollars to PRETEND should be a CRIME. It's NOT BRAIN SURGERY and what good does it really do our country? I will continue to sneak, if that's what it takes, food into the movie theaters only if it's something I'm willing to pay OUTRAGEOUS prices to see, because it's STUPID to pay those prices for snacks. Catch me if you can. I've lived too long to put up with what is nothing more than CRAP. Carmike 6 - you've lost my business.
