The Missoula City Council took public comment Monday on new, draft development regulations. The old ones make steam come out of people's ears. The new ones sometimes do too, but most of the people who showed up Monday were more thrilled with the new document than up in arms over its content. The council is probably going to be tweaking it in the next few weeks. What do you want councilors to put in? Take out?
In the current draft, you need a rezone to build an ADU. Some people want it to be easier to build one, an accessory dwelling unit, otherwise known as a "granny flat" or "mother-in-law unit." Others don't want the new ordinance to mention them at all. Your vote?
